Is it possible for me to apply to work in the United States as a teacher of science, English, history, sports, mathematics, and religion?

Yes, you can apply to work as a teacher in the United States with a degree in education. However, you may need to be willing to teach Spanish if there are no openings available in your specific area of expertise such as science, English, history, sports, mathematics, or religion.

Is it possible for me as a psychologist or differential educator to apply for a job in the United States?

Although you may not be able to directly pursue a career in educational psychology or differential education in the United States, if you have a degree in education, you can apply to work as a Spanish teacher in this country.

Can I apply to work in the United States if my English level is not advanced?

Yes, it is possible to apply to work in the United States even if you do not have an advanced level of English. Generally, an intermediate B1 level is required to enable you to communicate during the job interview. Once you start working in the United States, it is also important that you can effectively communicate with the parents of your students. Therefore, it is recommended that your level of English be sufficient to speak with them.

What are the documents needed to apply to international schools?

Is it difficult to receive job offers in European countries?

Receiving job offers in European countries can be more difficult, but it is not impossible. In general, employers look for teachers with more than 5 years of international experience, an advanced level of English, and postgraduate degrees in their field of specialization. If you have a European passport, this could increase your chances of getting a job in the region.

What visas can I apply for to work in the United States?

When receiving a job offer in the US, you may be eligible for a J1 visa if you work at a school, have an English certificate, possess more than 2 years of experience, and plan to stay in the US for a maximum of 5 years. Alternatively, you can apply for an H1B1 visa if you plan to live in the United States for the long term and both you and the school agree to obtain this type of visa.

What are the differences between the H1B1 and J1 visa?

The main differences between the H1B1 and J1 visas are that with the J1 visa, you can stay in the United States for a maximum of 5 years. Your dependents over the age of 18 (J2) can apply for a work permit without having a job, and during the first two years living in the country. On the other hand, with the H1B1 visa, you can stay as long as you have a job and, after a while, apply for a Green Card. Your dependents over the age of 18 do not obtain a work permit, and from the beginning, you pay the same taxes as a US citizen.

If I get a teaching job in the United States, can I bring my family with me?

Yes, you can bring all your immediate family members with you if they meet the corresponding visa requirements to enter the United States. Additionally, you must be legally married to your spouse and your children must be listed on their marriage certificate. It is important that each family member has their own visa to enter the country.

What does your recruitment service for teachers include?

Documentation: Throughout the entire process, we teach, review, and support our teachers in gathering and preparing the necessary documentation to enhance their job opportunities when applying to schools in the United States.

Community: Teachers have access to our entire community of educators from Latin America and the United States, and we are always here to connect them with specific individuals who can facilitate their arrival in the United States.

School Connection: We select and interview teachers who fit with public, private, or charter schools in the United States. We conduct their pre-screening, reference checks, review of demonstration lessons, experience interviews, performance predictive reports, and English assessments to ensure a cultural fit for both the school and the teacher.

Access to Miss Berni Academy: A space for teachers to learn all the steps they need to follow once they arrive in the United States (getting an SSN, driver's license, renting housing, etc.). Additionally, in this section, we share with our teachers all the information they need to know before even applying for jobs in schools, such as visa information, rights, opportunities, how to craft their documents, what requirements they should be aware of, etc.
